Mumbai 16th September - National award winning director Vinay Shukla has come up with yet another multifaceted Hindi film- Mirch. The title promotional song for this latest offering was shoot today by the sexy Mahie Gill choreographed by National Award winning chorographer Saroj Khan. Also present were Arunuday Singh & Shanan Goswami who star in the film and are part of the song video. A BIG Pictures production the film’s concept is as arresting as its story-line- scheduled for an early 2010 release.

This song sums up the film and also introduces the film to the audience,” says Vinay Shukla. It signifies what Mirch is all about.

What make’s this song interesting is its two versions, the folk version and the techno version. The folk version, based on a rural thematic is sung by Kalpana, is shot against a village backdrop. The techno version sung by Sharmistha Chatterjee works on the spot light concept. The numerous colour spot-lights on her will add the sizzle of ‘mirch’ and promises to make the screen come alive.

Mirch, more than anything, is a structural marvel. The narrative weaves four stories with that of the main story. Revolves round the protagonist Maanav, a committed struggling filmmaker threads together four narratives to make the film of his choice. This carefully cast film has Konkana Sen Sharma, Raima Sen, Shahana Goswami, Shreyas Talpade, Rajpal Yadav, Boman Irani, Sushant Singh, Arunoday Singh, Prem Chopra playing the various characters. With special appearances by Saurabh Shukla & Tisca Chopra.

Vinay Shukla has been an active scriptwriter and director of Hindi films over the last three decades. His films have had the distinctions of not only succeeding at the box office but also garnering critical acclaim and prestigious awards. His most well-known film, Godmother clearly established him as talented craftsman capable of integrating the nuances of good cinema within the popular narrative form.

The music of Mirch has been composed by Monty Sharma while Javed Akhtar has penned the lyrics. The dances have been choreographed by Saroj Khan.
