BIG Home Video, in association with Paramount Home Entertainment Global and DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. presents the funniest movie of the year – Kung Fu Panda on home video. Kung Fu Panda comes from the makers of animation blockbusters Shrek and Madagascar. It is not only a state of the art CG animation movie full of high-octane kung fu action, comedy and engaging characters, but also a heart-warming story of an unlikely hero’s journey of self-discovery and enlightenment. The film has grossed more than $600 million worldwide on box-office.
The film has been directed by John Stevenson and Mark Osborne and stars the voices of Jack Black as Po, the panda, along with Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, David Cross, and Ian McShane. Set in ancient China, the plot revolves around a bumbling panda who aspires to be a kung fu master. Po the Panda is the laziest animals in all of the Valley of Peace, but unwittingly becomes the chosen one when enemies threaten their way of life.
BIG Home Video has crafted the marketing of Kung Fu Panda home video release keeping in mind the genre and the uniqueness of the movie. A very special activity - Costume Visits for Po, the central character in the film, have been organized across various cities in India, including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Gurgaon, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata. This interactive marketing program will engage consumers through Meet and Greet Po and Photo-opportunity with Po sessions for kids and families. BIG Home Video has tied up with leading large format retail chains, including Lifestyle, Landmark, Planet M, Music World and Odyssey for this campaign. Along with meeting and greeting Po, the consumers can also take part in contests and win exciting Kung Fu Panda premiums at these outlets.
Po will also bring a smile on the face of some under privileged children this Christmas and New Year by visiting them and distributing goodies at under-privileged homes.
BIG Home Video has planned a full-blown above-the-line marketing campaign for Kung Fu Panda. A TV campaign is starting on 7th December on kids and family channels. An outdoor activity consisting of hoardings and bus panels will be carried out in Mumbai and Delhi to spread the word on the release. A tie-up is in place with Big 92.7 FM for an interesting contest for its audience in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore.
